Ms Silvia Nakano has a degree in Education and a Masters degree in Public Administration from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. She is Director of the National Directorate of Physical Resources at the Ministry of Science of Argentina. She is in charge of the administration of the Electronic Library of Science and Technology and the Program of Large Instruments and Databases of Science, facilities for the whole national scientific system, in which is developed the National System of Digital Repositories (SNRD). The SNRD is the national level network which coordinates the efforts of universities and R+D organisations to enhance visibility and accessibility of research outputs through interoperable repositories.
Silvia participates in the project LA REFERENCIA, which is the Latin American level network of repositories of scientific publications.
She also represents the Ministry of Science of Argentina at COAR's membership, the World Confederation of Open Access Repositories, and participates in outreach activities, promotion and training, as well as the actions of its strategic committee.
